When is the Doubletree by Hilton Toyama due to open?

The construction of the DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama began in October 2020 with a safety ceremony and is expected to open in the first quarter of 2023, although the contract signed in 2019 was for 2022, probably due to the delay caused by the Corona disaster.

The project is a partnership between Osaka-based Ikeda Hotel Management Co. and Hilton Japan, Korea and Micronesia, with construction by Fujita Corporation.

Where will the DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama be located?

The DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama is conveniently located just a few minutes’ walk from the south exit of Toyama Station, making it easy to get to Toyama Castle, the Toyama City Glass Art Museum and other tourist attractions, as well as other places in Toyama. We hope you enjoy your stay in Toyama.

Double tree welcome cookie recipe

A special feature of the Doubletree is the welcome drink, or rather the welcome chocolate chip cookie.

I’m curious to see how the Doubletree chocolate chip cookies taste, but the recipe was published on the website, so if you’re interested, why not give them a try?

Makes 26 cookies

½ pound butter, softened (2 sticks)

¾ cup + 1 tablespoon granulated sugar

¾ cup packed light brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 ¼ teaspoons vanilla extract

¼ teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

2 ¼ cups flour

1/2 cup rolled oats

1 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

Pinch cinnamon

2 2/3 cups Nestle Tollhouse semi-sweet chocolate chips

1 3/4 cups chopped walnuts

Cream butter, sugar and brown sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer on medium speed for about 2 minutes.

Add eggs, vanilla and lemon juice, blending with mixer on low speed for 30 seconds, then medium speed for about 2 minutes, or until light and fluffy, scraping down bowl.

With mixer on low speed, add flour, oats, baking soda, salt and cinnamon, blending for about 45 seconds. Don’t overmix.

Remove bowl from mixer and stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.

Portion dough with a scoop (about 3 tablespoons) onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper about 2 inches apart.

Preheat oven to 300°F. Bake for 20 to 23 minutes, or until edges are golden brown and center is still soft.

Remove from oven and cool on baking sheet for about 1 hour.

Cook’s note: You can freeze the unbaked cookies, and there’s no need to thaw. Preheat oven to 300°F and place frozen cookies on parchment paper-lined baking sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake until edges are golden brown and center is still soft.

What is the Doubletree of Hilton?

The Doubletree by Hilton is one of the four star brands in the Hilton family. It’s a bit more casual than Hilton and a bit lower in price.

In Japan, there is only one other hotel in Okinawa.

The Doubletree by Hilton Toyama will be the fourth of these hotels.
The reviews and ratings on Rakuten Travel are all above 4 stars, so we are sure that the Doubletree by Hilton Toyama will be a comfortable hotel.
We can’t wait for it to open in 2023!

How to get to the Doubletree by Hilton Toyama?

We are just a few minutes walk from Toyama station, so if you can get to Toyama station you will find us as soon as you exit the south exit.

Toyama Station is easily accessible from Tokyo by Shinkansen, the Hokuriku Shinkansen, which takes about 2 hours 10 minutes to 40 minutes from Tokyo Station.
From Nagoya, it takes about 4 hours to get to Toyama Station by the “Wide View Hida” limited express train, which does not require a transfer.
From Osaka, take the limited express to Kanazawa Station and then change to the Hokuriku Shinkansen, which takes about 3 hours.

By car, it takes about 4 hours from Tokyo to Toyama Station via the Kanetsu Expressway, Joetsu Expressway and Hokuriku Expressway, about 3 hours from Nagoya via the Meishin Expressway, and about 4 hours and 15 minutes from Osaka via the Meishin Expressway. Express buses are also available from many places, so it is possible to get to Toyama Station at a reasonable price.

It takes just over two hours to get there from Tokyo by Shinkansen, so it is the most accessible for those living in the Kanto region, and a good place to take a break and enjoy some delicious food!
